First time login

A day or two before the start of each semester, accounts on this webserver will be created for students in all of my online classes. When this happens, I will send an email message to all students from Blackboard Learn. You will also receive an individual email from the webserver containing instructions on how to login to the website. A copy of this message is shown below.

If you are enrolled in one of my online courses and do not get these instructions, you can create a new password using the instructions on the Passwords page. Note that this will only work after I have created student accounts on this webserver (typically a day or two before the start of the semester).

Dr. Earley at Chemistry has created an account for you on the website we will be using for CHEM 10030: Chemistry in Our World. You may now login by clicking this link or copying and pasting it to your browser:

Login link   <<--- In the email, this would be the one-time login link

This link will lead you to a page where you can setup your account. You should change the following settings:

  • Password: - For security, I strongly encourage you to NOT use your Flashline password for this site.
  • Picture: - It is not necessary to do this. However, if you would like to upload an image (avatar) you may. This image will be used for all of your posts on this site and will be seen by all other students. You can change this at any time during the semester.
  • Alias - Your alias should be set to your first name and the first letter of your last name. This is the name that will be shown to other students for all posts on this site. If desired, you can change this to any name you choose.
  • Testing Center - You will need to select the option you would like to use for taking examinations. If you do not select a proctoring site, you will need to take your exam online.

After setting up your account, you will be able to login to this site from any browser using your KSU Flashline username:
